Paige's POV - Digging the Natural History Museum

As a museum lover, I was horrified when Dan claimed he’d “never been to one.” I wasn’t sure I believed him, but I knew our first date had to fix that, so we chose the Natural History Museum.

On a freezing February day, I ran late between trains and had one eventful ride when a homeless man screamed in my face. Meanwhile, Dan waited outside for nearly an hour in subzero temps, decked out in Buffalo Bills gear. When I finally found him, we practically sprinted inside.

After breaking the ice (literally), we got to exploring the museum and started cracking jokes right away. It felt like one long talk show starring us, making dumb jokes and puns at all the exhibits—I never felt more at ease. At some point, we saw an exhibit created by a geologist couple and then went on a competition streak of horrible "Geologists' favorite..." jokes.

That competition continued long after Dan took me to a nice dinner, drove me from Manhattan to my home in Larchmont, and then drove all the way back to Stamford. I think I won.
